Members of the Intersectoral Group for the Prevention and Investigation of Homicides of Children and Adolescents held a working meeting with Ton Liefaard, an academic and international expert in child-friendly justice, with the aim of exchanging reflections on the main challenges Chile faces in this area.
During the meeting, participants discussed the progress made and the existing gaps within the justice system in ensuring the comprehensive protection of the rights of children and adolescents, as well as the importance of strengthening specialized and coordinated approaches across different sectors of the State.
In this context, Ton Liefaard highlighted the value of the work being carried out, noting that “having an Intersectoral Group like this represents a great opportunity to invest in collaboration and coordination, which is absolutely critical for the comprehensive protection of the rights of children and adolescents.”
The meeting reaffirmed the importance of continuing to promote spaces for dialogue and interinstitutional coordination, as a key element in advancing toward a more child-friendly justice system centered on the rights of children and adolescents.
