Technical standard for the care of child and adolescent victims of sexual violence

The “General Technical Standard for the Care of Child and Adolescent (NNA) Victims of Sexual Violence for its Application in the National Legal Medical Service” was published in November 2020 under Resolution 2938. This updates and adjusts the 2016 technical standard to the provisions of Law 21.057, which introduces protective measures to prevent secondary victimization of NNA victims of sexual and other serious crimes during their interaction with the criminal justice system.
The document is intended for professionals and technicians working in victim care at the Legal Medical Service, Health Services, and the Public Prosecutor’s Office. It provides guidelines for comprehensive care of these victims, including the stages of reception, initial response, clinical forensic exploration, sample collection, expert report, prophylaxis, and interdisciplinary referral.
