As part of the 5th International Congress of the Sociedad Chilena de Criminolog\u00eda (SOCHICRIM), Carolina Pavez, sociologist and researcher at Fundaci\u00f3n Amparo y Justicia, presented the paper \u201cImpact evaluation of the investigative interview in the criminal prosecution of sexual offenses against children and adolescents in Chile.\u201d<\/em><\/p>\n

The presentation took place within the panel \u201cAdvances and challenges in the implementation of the video-recorded investigative interview in Chile: Evidence, practices, and access to justice for children and adolescents.\u201d<\/p>\n

Alongside Carolina\u2019s presentation, the following talks were also held: \u201cAccess to justice for children and adolescents who are victims of sexual and violent crimes,\u201d by Gonzalo Marks, Head of the Victims and Witnesses Assistance Unit of the Valpara\u00edso Regional Prosecutor\u2019s Office; and \u201cStudying the adequacy of the technique, outcomes, and perceptions surrounding the video-recorded interview,\u201d presented by Decio Mettifogo, academic at the University of Chile.<\/p>\n

The panel was moderated by Nicol\u00e1s Pietrasanta, Head of Research and Public Policy at Fundaci\u00f3n Amparo y Justicia.<\/p>\n

Regarding her participation, Carolina highlighted that \u201cthis space was a great opportunity to share concrete evidence on the impact that the video-recorded investigative interview has had in our country. It also allowed us to engage in dialogue with actors from the justice system and academia, promoting the idea that research should not remain purely theoretical but should also generate influence to improve public policies.\u201d<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
