Law 21.421 Excludes Those Accused of Sexual Crimes Against Children and Adolescents from Certain Benefits

Law 21.421, which excludes individuals who have committed sexual offenses against minors from the benefits regulated under Law No. 19.856, was published on February 9, 2022. It modifies section e) of Article 17 of Law 19.856, which creates a social reintegration system for convicts based on the observation of good behavior. The law establishes limits on the application of the sentence reduction benefit provided by this law, specifically excluding those who have committed sexual offenses against children and adolescents (CNA).
