With the participation of representatives from the Network of Universities for Childhood and officials from the criminal justice system, the online seminar “Videotaped Interview Law and its National Implementation: What are the Initial Results?” was held.
The event featured a panel consisting of Lorena Contreras Taibo, a psychologist from the Universidad Diego Portales, with a Master’s degree in the Needs and Rights of Children and Adolescents from the Universidad Autónoma de Madrid, and a PhD in Psychology from the Universidad de Buenos Aires. She is currently a faculty member and director of the postgraduate program at the Faculty of Psychology UDP. She presented on “Law 21.057: What can the evidence contribute?”
Also participating was Nora Rosati Jerez, a judge at the Second Oral Criminal Court of Santiago and a member of the technical team for the implementation of the videotaped interview law, as well as coordinator of the application of the regulation in the Judiciary. She presented on “Challenges and issues in the implementation of Law 21.057.”
Additionally, Nicolás Pietrasanta Muñoz, a sociologist and head of the Public Policy and Studies area at Fundación Amparo y Justicia, presented on “Law 21.057 of Videotaped Investigative Interviews: Progress and challenges for its proper functioning.”
