Criminal justice in Chile has seen major progress since the early 2000s, and the implementation of the Criminal Process Reform has been the most notable change in this regard. This evolution has gone hand in hand with the progressive integration of the rights and perspectives of children and teens who have been victims of crimes into the work of institutions that are part of the criminal justice system. Although there are gaps that still need to be bridged, the country has become a model in Latin America in terms of the response to children and teen victims of sex crimes and has consolidated a number of transformations for them to be able to exercise their guarantees and rights during legal processes.
