The handbook is aimed at legal professionals who are not specialized in child law, judges, prosecutors, child protection authorities, and other professionals and organizations responsible for ensuring the legal protection of children’s rights. It contains the following chapters:

Civil rights and liberties
Equality and non-discrimination
Issues of personal identity
Family life
Alternative care and adoption
Protection of children from violence and exploitation
Economic, social, and cultural rights and an adequate standard of living
