Since 2019, Fundación Amparo y Justicia has been publishing this statistical study that provides information on the intake and processing of cases in which children and adolescents have been victims of sexual crimes. The aim is to contribute to decision-making regarding the actions that the State should take to address the issue.
In this study, the data used was requested through transparency laws from the Public Prosecutor’s Office, the institution responsible for maintaining such records. The analysis consists of an initial section on the complaints filed and a second section on criminal prosecution and case outcomes. Although the analysis focuses on the year 2023, it includes reports of complaints made to the authorities between 2006 and 2023.
