This study presents the results of five Initial Specialized Training Courses in Video Recorded Investigative Interviewing (EIV), conducted by the Carabineros de Chile and the Policía de Investigaciones between 2018 and 2020, as part of the implementation of Law 21.057. A total of 61 professionals participated, and their performance was evaluated by conducting a simulated investigative interview with interpreters playing the role of children and adolescents victims (CNA), before and after the course. In line with national and international experiences in investigative interview training, the results show a substantial increase in the use of open-ended questions and a significant decrease in specific and suggestive questions in the post-training evaluations. Thus, the training program contributes to the proper implementation of Law 21.057, as the police officers who participated in these courses achieved the expected results for conducting an investigative interview appropriately.
