The Council of Europe Convention on the Protection of Children against Sexual Exploitation and Sexual Abuse (Lanzarote Convention) was signed on October 25, 2007, with the need to create a global international instrument focusing on aspects related to prevention, protection, and criminal legislation in the fight against all forms of sexual exploitation and abuse of children, establishing specific monitoring mechanisms.
