In the context of intervention with families who are indirect victims of rape with homicide carried out by Fundación Amparo y Justicia, best practices for victim support in post-sentencing contexts were reviewed at the international level. These practices were considered for cases where individuals convicted of these crimes applied for parole, as well as in supporting the mourning and recovery processes of those families. The document is divided into two sections: first, crisis interventions for families after being notified of the parole application, and second, the development of a safety plan in case the benefit is granted. These strategies were adapted to the national context for the work within the foundation, as well as to communicate with the various institutions and support networks that assist indirect victims during this process.
