On Monday, June 3, the closing ceremony of the 19th Initial Specialized Training Course (CIFE) in Videotaped Investigative Interviewing, carried out by Amparo y Justicia together with the Chilean Carabineros Police, took place.
The event was attended by Carabineros Deputy Director General, Marcelo Araya; the National Director of Police Operations Support, Inspector General Ramón Alvarado; and the Head of the Department of Control and Inter-institutional Coordination of the Human Rights y Protección de la Familia, Juan Carlos Gibert.
The Foundation’s Executive Director, Loreto Moore, and the Head of the Training Department, Carolina Puyol, also attended.
This course geared towards training interviewers and intermediaries on Act 21,057 on Videotaped Interviewing was held from May 2 to 30 and concluded with nine students successfully passing who will now join the Carabineros interviewers.
Following the ceremony, the Head of Training, Carolina Puyol, said: “It is an honor to celebrate the closing of the 19th Initial Specialized Training Course in Videotaped Investigative Interviewing. The role of the interviewer is paramount in obtaining testimonies of children and teens with high standards to guide the investigation and effective protection of those who have been victims of a crime.
