The Foundation is once again present at the main international conference on Videorecorded Investigative Interviewing organized by the International Investigative Interviewing Research Group (iIIRG), which was held this year in Ottawa, Canada.
Fundación Amparo y Justicia has once again been invited to the main international conference on Videorecorded Investigative Interviewing organized by the International Investigative Interviewing Research Group (iIIRG). The prestigious conference held this year at Carleton University in Ottawa, Canada, brings together the world’s largest network of interviewing professionals.
At this year’s conference, held from June 17 to 21, the Foundation gave a presentation titled “Trainer’s competencies for the initial and continuing training of interviewers,” by Hans Eichhorns, psychologist from the Training Department of Amparo y Justicia.
The presentation addressed the essential skills and aptitudes that trainers must possess and highlighted the importance of rigorous and consistent teaching to maintain high professional standards in investigative interviewing.
Another interesting moment at this year’s event was the special session for presenting posters with essential information on the subject. Representing the Foundation, psychologist Francisca Azolas displayed a poster with facts and statistics on secondary trauma among professionals who work with people who have experienced traumatic situations.
According to the research, there are significant levels of secondary trauma among interviewers: for example, 52.9% of them showed severe and strong symptoms of secondary trauma, while 60% of those who conducted more than 50 interviews in the last six months showed high and severe levels of secondary trauma.
