On Thursday, August 14, 2025, the ninth session of the Intersectoral Group for the Prevention and Investigation of Homicides of Children and Adolescents was held at the National Prosecutor’s Office.
During this meeting, representatives from 11 public institutions in the fields of justice, protection, health, and education began the solution design phase, working collaboratively on proposals aimed at addressing the main challenges identified in the diagnostic stage.
According to Carolina Sobarzo, sociologist and researcher at Fundación Amparo y Justicia and coordinator of the initiative:
“At this stage, we began to build collaborative proposals to overcome the main obstacles identified in the diagnostic phase. Joint work makes it possible to develop innovative solutions, both in the prevention and investigation of homicides and suspicious deaths of children and adolescents.”
This intersectoral group meets monthly with the aim of generating concrete actions that strengthen the system’s capacity to ensure justice and comprehensive protection for children, while improving interinstitutional coordination.
