This diagnostic study analyzes the process of investigation and criminal prosecution in cases of homicides of children and adolescents (CNA) in Chile, with the aim of identifying areas for improvement in the institutional response. Through a review of literature and international practices, the main deficiencies are highlighted, such as the lack of detailed data on child and adolescent homicides and the absence of protocols to guide these complex investigations. The report suggests improvements in case reporting, the implementation of specific protocols, and specialized training for the actors involved, with the goal of strengthening the justice system in these cases.
