The videotaped interview bill was introduced to Congress in January 2014. This report was prepared in 2012 by an interdisciplinary team of academics from the Faculty of Law and the Faculty of Social Sciences at the University of Chile, and presents a proposal for the development and implementation of a videotaped interview system for children and adolescents in Chile. It is based on the work of the Inter-institutional Committee on Videotaped Investigative Interviews, convened by Fundación Amparo y Justicia and the Ministry of the Interior and Public Security, which was developed between October and June of 2011 and 2012. The document provides recommendations, based on national and international evidence, for the design of the new institutions and procedures involved in the restructuring of the investigative process and the incorporation of this new procedure into the criminal justice system.
