Every year since 2019, Fundación Amparo y Justicia has released this statistical study on the filing and processing of cases involving child and teen victims of sex crimes. The aim of this report is to contribute to decision-making related to actions the State must take to address this issue.
The data used for this study were requested by means of the Transparency Act from the Public Prosecutor’s Office, which is the institution responsible for keeping these records. The analysis includes one section on reports filed and a second section on criminal prosecution and case outcomes. Although the analysis mainly focuses on 2023, it includes reports filed with the authorities between 2006 and 2023.
